Byers, CO, May 12, 2024 – The Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) kicked off the 2024 Championship Series at High Plains Raceway on May 11-12. The weekend’s highlight for non-licensed racers was the first SuperStreet event of the season, which saw 10 eager students participate. Our SuperStreet program is sponsored by Motorcycle Riding Training Center (MRTC), a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) certified Rider Training School. Founded in 1974, the Motorcycle Rider Training Center is one of the oldest motorcycle rider training facilities in the United States.

Saturday began with participants arriving at 10 AM to set up and prepare their bikes. After passing tech inspections, students attended a lunchtime classroom session covering racetrack procedures, motorcycle preparation, and racecraft tactics specific to motorcycle roadracing. Each student was paired with an experienced MRA racer serving as their on-track instructor for the day.

The real action kicked off in the afternoon. While the MRA races were underway, SuperStreet students observed seasoned racers to learn from their techniques. Following the final race of the day, SuperStreet participants took to the track, practicing basic on-track lines and proper racecraft, focusing on corner entry and exit. The students were also coached on how to launch their motorcycles, ensuring they knew how to safely start a race.

The day concluded with the SuperStreet mock race. Each participant competed in a full-length, multi-lap race, applying their newly acquired skills in a safe and controlled environment. They pushed their limits and experienced the thrill of roadracing firsthand. Ryan Reasoner stole the show, demonstrating impressive speed and clinching the sprint win on his Triumph Speed Triple.

SuperStreet is a unique program designed to help riders elevate their skills, whether for road riding, track days, or a potential future in roadracing. This cost-effective event provides the excitement of racing without the need for extensive bike preparation. Riders only need to complete two SuperStreet events to qualify for an MRA race license, making it an accessible pathway to competitive racing.

Don’t miss your chance to join the next SuperStreet event at Pueblo Motorsports Park on May 25. Sign up for the MRA SuperStreet program and start your journey to becoming a licensed racer!
