What is a Legacy License Membership?

In 2025, the MRA membership voted to recognize members who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the club, specifically, 15 years or more (cumulative, not consecutive) of competition membership with the MRA.

Members who can prove* they meet the requirement are entitled to discounted “Race Your Ass Off” pricing for MRA race events. Legacy License Members will only pay the entry fee for their first race, and all subsequent race entries at each event are free**.

For the 2026 Season, this equates to a $178 savings every race weekend – Legacy License Members pay only $199** for as many races as they are eligible for (“Race Your Ass Off”) – by comparison, Non-Legacy License Members pay $377** for “Race Your Ass Off” pricing ($199** for the first race; $99** for the second, and; $79** for the third and all subsequent races**).

How does it work?

  • Purchase your season Competition Membership as you normally would, through the “Membership & Licensing” event on mra.motorsportreg.com  (available from January until October).
  • Once you have applied for your normal Competition Membership, compile your evidence* of at least 15 years of MRA competition membership, and Email it to the Vice President at vicepres.mra@gmail.com.
  • Once the Vice President has received and reviewed sufficient evidence of your eligibility, you will be notified by Email that your Legacy License Membership has been approved.
  • Once approved, when entering MRA race events, you will see an option visible only to you titled “Legacy membership Entry” which will enable you to enter as many races as you like, for the price of the first race**.

* Because not all historical records are readily available, providing proof of 15 years of competition membership is entirely the responsibility of the member making the application. This requires evidence of the race license cards that were created for you each year. Race results alone are not sufficient, because a Single Event License may have been used in lieu of a competition membership.

** Any applicable surcharges must still be paid.
